September 14th, 2012

The warning supposedly coming from West Yorkshire Police about you committing various forbidden things is a fresh ransomware program specifically elaborated by hackers in order to steal money from unwary users. So, be not afraid when you get it! This is a deceitful statement that has nothing to do with the real notice from the British law enforcement body. Here is what it says in details, by the way:

Polisen Enheten for databrott ransomware removal

April 3rd, 2012

Polisen Enheten for databrott is actually the heading (title) of another ransomware virus that is prepared by online hackers to hijack computers primarily in Sweden and thus to demand money from users deceived by the large volume of untrue information. In particular, typical to all other ransomwares, this pest tells that users were noticed to watch, promote and spread illegal information over the Internet having to do with extremely explicit content, spreading spam and even being engaged in support of terrorist activities. No doubt, such information is quite scary when received by unprepared users (not aware about presence of this type of infection in the cyber world). The malware literally prompts users to pay the forfeit (fine) in the amount of 100 Euro by means of indicating special PIN codes of Ukash or Paysafecard vouchers. As you probably understand, doing so is the waste of funds. There is no guarantee that this scam will unlock your PC, and the chances are that the crooks will simply use your money simply for reaching their covetous plots. Even if the problem can be resolved (desktop unlocked) by means of indicating the Ukash or Paysafecard PIN codes – still, this is not the correct solution of the problem. There are many other wonderful things you could invest your money into, but surely not in favor of the criminals that produced this scareware device. By the way, here is what it says in Swedish language, in particular:

PRS for Music virus. How to unlock infected PC

March 29th, 2012

PRS for Music Your computer has been locked stands for a scam (ransomware) application that aims to collect funds from unwary PC users all over the world. It should be first noted that several weeks ago Performing Right Society organization (abbreviated as PRS) wrote an explanatory notice where they clearly stated that the scam is not associated with PRS for Music and that they are researching this case thoroughly. It is quite logical to ask ourselves why in the world this organization is so concerned about this malicious application. Obviously, this is due to the fact that the online frauds use their trademark and logo, together with Metropolitan police evidently, to design this scareware as the real warning that allegedly appeared in front of your screen, being supposedly originated by the law enforcement bodies of the UK. This badware is especially severe sample and, regretfully, is very persistent at this very present time. Thus, what does this scam perform in particular? As soon as it is successfully implanted into your machine, it obtains total control over your Desktop with quite a professionally designed and written full-screen notice indicating to be originated by PRS for Music and Metropolitan Police law enforcement bodies. Here is how this scam depicts itself on a real computer:

Some users also tend to name this cyber infection as eCops virus in their search queries. This is because of eCops logo placed in the very upper part of this scareware notification. We’ve researched about eCops organization. This is a Belgian online reporting service to which the Internet user can report crimes related to Belgium, committed on or by means of the world wide web. The web-page of eCops clearly says that this organization makes sure that all such reports are investigated by the appropriate service. So, this is the authority that helps to prevent sites with misleading information, unwanted advertisement or a fraudulent offers over the Internet. It also fights against child pornography on websites. It is obvious that this is a good company that helps to prevent cyber crimes committed by some users online. However, eCops has nothing to do with this ransomware program you see at the screenshot. On the contrary, this virus was prepared by hackers who want to earn extra money by deceiving users online. As we said, this malware attacks users primarily of France and Belgium, but there are chances that other countries might suffer because of it too.
